What Your Red Cross Does Locally –

When people think of the Red Cross they typically think of Blood Drives and who can blame them, we collect nearly half of the nations blood supply and make a difference in the lives of millions every day, but there is so much more...

  • Local Disaster Assistance to those affected in Home Fires
  • CPR, First Aid and Babysitter's Training to over 5,000 yr
  • Providing Emergency Communications for Military Families and Reintegration Events to help then when they come home
  • Collecting nearly half of the Nations Blood Supply
  • International and National Disaster Relief

Local Disaster Responses to Home Fires

Photographer: Hector Emanuel

Locally, most disaster responses are to fires in the home. Each year, numerous families in our four counties, are affected by fire. This results in families needing assistance with food, clothing, shelter and mental health services. These disaster-caused needs are quickly taken care of by the responding members of our Disaster Action Team. Our DAT members are available 24/7 – 365 days a year.

CPR, First Aid & Babysitter's Training

Photographer: Daniel Cima

For nearly a century, the American Red Cross has prepared people to save lives through health and safety education and training. From first aid, CPR and blood borne pathogens training to swimming and life guarding, HIV/AIDS education and Babysitter's Training, American Red Cross Preparedness programs help people lead safer and healthier lives.

Blood Services

Collecting nearly half of the nations blood supply could not be done without the help and generosity of our wonderful donors. Each donation can touch up to three lives! Your local chapter collects nearly 1,000 units each year.
